DVC

Our solution

Stage 2 of the site was launched in August 2005 and focused around two key areas of content: information, tips and tools to assist young people in today's competitive job market and an expansion of locally-based information including a snapshot of the regional job market and info and links to local councils around Victoria.

We used our team of professional web writers to produce this content and also mentored teams of young writers chosen to work with the Department to create profiles, articles, news and reviews for the site. Our ongoing work with the Department will include:

  • Running regionally-based web writing workshops for young people. These workshops provide young writers with basic skills in interviewing, writing for the web and photography. Many of the workshop participants go on to produce articles and reviews for the site
  • Providing ongoing maintenance services for the site. This includes new content development, reviews of existing content and working with the youthcentral team to maintain the site's ongoing production schedule
  • Develop the site's Web Content Style Guide, Publishing Procedures and various Management Guidelines e.g. Information Pages, Link Management, Directory Management and Participation Principles
  • New content development. We continue to work with the Department to plan and organise their ongoing content needs and by brining in teams of writers to develop additional content as required. Our work on content for Schoolies Week kicked off in late August

Stage 2 of youthcentral was designed and developed by iFocus.
