Our solution

We assisted the VCAA by documenting its new, decentralised publishing processes and workflows and developing its Web Content Style Guide.

To help support and prepare staff for using the new Content Management System (CMS), once implemented, we designed a Web Page Development Template which is now used as the standard tool for developing new web site content. This MS Word™ based template follows the structure and layout of a typical CMS template and is used as an interim content development tool while the client's CMS is under construction.

This approach helps staff to understand the process for structuring and developing web pages and the various approval workflows that are typical for using a CMS. (Previously, staff had no need for this understanding as their content was made web-ready for them by the Web Content Manager).

We also developed and facilitated training sessions that introduced the new web publishing processes, explained the Web Page Development Template and presented basic web-writing tips and techniques.
