Gordon Thompson

Gordon’s background is in writing, media and information technology. He has had extensive experience in education, community, corporate, arts, IT and telecommunications environments.

He has worked in library and information services, including Telecom, Ericsson, the Australian Film Institute, North Limited, the Australian Film Television and Radio School (where he was deputy library manager), and the Victorian Writers’ Centre. He was recently manager of the categorising section of the Hitwise database, which included multilingual aspects and market integration.

Gordon has worked with Syzygy, one of Europe’s largest digital agencies as a content editor on projects such as Siemens AG and the London Southbank Centre. He developed in-house style guides for web publishing. In Australia he has worked on website development as a consultant, copywriter, editor, database team manager, and website developer. He redesigned the Film Victoria website (2003) and has designed a range of small business and community sites through Sense Internet.

Gordon is an experienced writer – having received funding for screenplay development from Film Victoria and the Australian Film Commission. He has edited educational texts and is a commissioning editor for fiction with Australian Scholarly Publishing.

Gordon excels in finding creative solutions and options. He is also a writer of music and is currently writing a collection of short stories and a country and western musical.
